Solar panels are one of the best investments you can make to your home. They not only save you money on bills every month, they let you control what you use and when. Having the right system in place could mean that when the rest of your street has a power cut, you're still sitting warm.
Lower Your Electricity Bills

Increase Your Property Value
Charge Your EV for Less

Yes. Even though Scotland isn't sunny all year round, Solar panels work from day light rather than sun light.
Homeowners throughout Glasgow & the Central Belt are often surprised with how much they can actually save per year. Along with the long life expectancy and warranty of solar panels. It really is a worth while investment
Every System is designed around your property, your energy usage & your future plans
We know how frustrating it can be dealing with trades. This is why we have made it one of our biggest priorities.
We're a local glasgow based company with a long-term commitment to our customers
We never upsell for the sake of it. We give honest advice that will best serve you and your home
We only use high quality panels, intervers & batteries from trusted manufacturers
All our installs are completed to the highest standard and MCS certified for your peace of mind
This is probably the biggest question we get asked.
The honest answer? Every home is different.
We know that's probably not the answer you were hoping for, but it's the truth.
When we visit your property, we don't just recommend a standard system. Every installation is designed specifically for your home.
The first thing we look at is how many solar panels your roof can comfortably accommodate. In most cases, the more panels your roof can fit, the more electricity your system can generate and the more you can potentially save.
However, if you have a particularly large roof, we don't simply fill it with panels. We also look at your household's electricity usage.
There's no point paying for extra panels if you'll never use the electricity they produce. Our aim is to design a system that's right for your home—not just the biggest system possible.
As a guide, many homeowners can reduce their annual electricity bills by 40–60% with solar panels alone.
Adding battery storage can increase those savings even further by allowing you to store excess electricity generated during the day and use it later in the evening.
The best way to find out what you could save is by booking a free home survey. We'll assess your property and provide a personalised estimate based on your roof, energy usage and future plans.

Not all solar installations are the same.
Every company has different standards, equipment and warranties, which can make it difficult to compare quotes.
We believe you should know exactly what you're paying for. That's why we've listed everything that's included as standard with every PurePower Energy installation, so there are no surprises and we're both on the same page from day one.

This is all down to the manufacturer and how well they are installed. Typically, solar panels have a warranty of around 25 years depending on the manufacturer. This said, if your installation is poor then this can cause them to have a shorter lifetime. This is why it's important to make sure you pick the right installer.
In most cases, yes. Solar panels can be installed on many roof types including tiled, slate and metal roofs. During your free survey we'll assess your roof, orientation, shading and available space to design the most suitable system for your home.
For many homeowners who are out at work during the day, yes. A battery stores excess electricity generated during the day so you can use it later when the sun isn't shining. This helps increase your energy independence and reduce the amount of electricity you buy from the grid.
Any electricity you don't use can be exported back to the National Grid if you don't have a battery. Many energy suppliers also offer export tariffs, meaning you can receive payments for surplus electricity your system generates. You can only export back to the grid if your install was completed by a MCS installer.
Most domestic solar installations fall under permitted development rights and don't require planning permission. However, if your property is listed or located within certain conservation areas, additional permissions may be required. We'll advise you during your survey if this applies.
Most residential solar installations are completed within one to two days, depending on the size and complexity of the system.
Only for a short period while the system is safely connected to your consumer unit. We'll always let you know beforehand and aim to keep any disruption to an absolute minimum.
Solar panels require very little maintenance. Rain naturally keeps them clean in most cases, and we'll provide advice on looking after your system to ensure it continues performing at its best.
If you've been looking into solar, you've probably come across the term MCS and wondered what it actually means.
Simply put, MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the UK's recognised quality standard for renewable energy installations.
Using an MCS Certified installer means your solar system has been designed and installed to recognised industry standards, giving you confidence that the installation has been completed correctly.
It's also an important requirement if you want to receive payments for exporting excess electricity back to the grid through the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG).
We believe quality shouldn't be optional, which is why every PurePower Energy installation is completed to MCS standards.
If you've been researching solar, you may have seen the terms G98 and G99. Don't worry—they're simply the regulations that allow your solar system to connect safely to the National Grid.
The type of application depends on the size of your system.
G98 is used for smaller domestic solar installations that meet certain limits. We install the system and then notify the DNO.
G99 is required for larger systems or installations that exceed those limits. We need to ask permission before the job goes ahead from the DNO. We dont want to install a system and then the application gets rejected.
The good news is you don't need to worry about any of this.
At PurePower Energy, we handle all G98 and G99 applications on your behalf, ensuring your installation is fully compliant and connected correctly.
