Store the electricity your solar panels generate
during the day and use it when you need it most.
Many homeowners think solar panels are enough, but in reality, a battery is what allows you to get the most from your solar system.
Without a battery, any electricity your solar panels generate that you don't use immediately is automatically exported back to the grid. While you may receive a payment for this, you're often selling that electricity for less than it costs to buy it back later in the evening.
A battery changes that.
Instead of exporting your unused electricity, your battery stores it during the day so you can use it later when your solar panels aren't producing power. This means you're using more of the electricity you've generated yourself rather than buying it back from your energy supplier.
For many homeowners, this can significantly increase the amount of money they save each year while also making them less reliant on rising electricity prices.
Modern battery systems are also incredibly smart. Many can charge overnight using cheaper electricity tariffs, giving you another way to reduce your energy costs even without solar panels.
Whether you're installing a brand-new solar system, already have solar panels or want to have a standalone battery, battery storage is one of the best ways to maximise your investment and take greater control of your home's energy.

Yes. Even if your solar installation was done by another installer, we can still install a battery to this providing a few things.
If you currently have solar and want to get a battery added on then the main thing we need to check is what type of inverter you have. For just a solar install then all they need is a string inverter, whereas if you want a battery then this needs to be changed for a hybrid inverter.
Some companies future proof your solar install and install a hybrid inverter.

We know how frustrating it can be dealing with trades. This is why we have made it one of our biggest priorities.
We're a local glasgow based company with a long-term commitment to our customers
We never upsell for the sake of it. We give honest advice that will best serve you and your home
We only use high quality panels, intervers & batteries from trusted manufacturers
All our installs are completed to the highest standard and MCS certified for your peace of mind
TThis is probably one of the biggest questions we get asked.
The honest answer? Every home is different.
We know that's probably not the answer you were hoping for, but it's the truth.
The amount you can save depends on several factors, including your electricity usage, your existing solar system (if you have one), your battery size and your electricity tariff.
When we visit your property, we don't simply recommend the biggest battery available. Instead, we design a system around your home and the way you use electricity.
There's no point paying for a larger battery if you'll never use the extra storage. Our aim is to recommend the battery that's right for your home—not simply the most expensive one.
Battery storage can help many homeowners reduce the amount of electricity they buy from the grid by up to 40%, depending on their solar system, energy usage and tariff.
Many modern battery systems can also charge overnight using cheaper electricity tariffs, helping you save even more throughout the year.
The best way to find out what you could save is by booking a free home survey. We'll assess your property, discuss your energy usage and provide a personalised estimate based on your home and future plans.

Not all solar installations are the same.
Every company has different standards, equipment and warranties, which can make it difficult to compare quotes.
We believe you should know exactly what you're paying for. That's why we've listed everything that's included as standard with every PurePower Energy installation, so there are no surprises and we're both on the same page from day one.

Most modern lithium batteries last between 10-15 years, with many backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty. They gradually lose a small amount of capacity over time but continue working well for many years.
Yes. Although Scotland has shorter winter days, battery storage still helps you use more of the electricity your solar panels generate instead of exporting it to the grid. Many homeowners also charge their battery overnight on cheaper tariffs for additional savings.
Very little. Modern battery systems are designed to operate automatically and are monitored through a smartphone app, allowing you to see how much energy you're generating, storing and using.
Absolutely. Battery-only systems are becoming increasingly popular. They allow you to charge the battery using cheaper off-peak electricity and use that energy during expensive peak periods.
Every home is different, but battery storage can help homeowners reduce their electricity bills by up to 40%, depending on energy usage, electricity tariffs and whether you already have solar panels installed.
Standards systems won't. The inverter which tells the battery to charge and when to release electricity in your home is powered from your consumer unit which is powered from the grid. If you add on a gateway, this will detect when you have a power cut and power the inverter from the battery.
In many cases, yes. We can assess your current solar system and recommend the most suitable battery solution to maximise your savings.
Most battery installations are completed within one working day, depending on the complexity of your existing electrical system.
If you've been looking into solar, you've probably come across the term MCS and wondered what it actually means.
Simply put, MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the UK's recognised quality standard for renewable energy installations.
Using an MCS Certified installer means your solar system has been designed and installed to recognised industry standards, giving you confidence that the installation has been completed correctly.
It's also an important requirement if you want to receive payments for exporting excess electricity back to the grid through the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG).
We believe quality shouldn't be optional, which is why every PurePower Energy installation is completed to MCS standards.
100%. Once your battery is installed then you can phone up your energy supplier and change tarrif. This will allow the battery to charge overnight on the cheap rate and then when you use your electricity in peak times, you will use your battery instead of buying from the grid at a expensive rate.
